Opportunity Rotting helps you keep track of opportunities that are stagnant in a particular stage. The platform alerts users when an opportunity has been pending in a stage for a specific number of ‘X’ days, based on the pipeline settings configured for each stage.
In the Kanban view of the Opportunity Dashboard, a rotten deal displays the following message: “Deal has been rotten for ‘X’ hours/days.”
1. Setting Up Rotting Age
Configure how long an opportunity can remain in a stage before it is flagged as rotten:
1. Navigate to Settings from the left sidebar, then click ‘Pipeline’.
2. Against the desired pipeline, click the pencil icon to edit its settings.
3. For each stage listed under the pipeline, use the ‘Assign rotting age’ option to set the time allocated for an opportunity to remain in that stage once it moves past this limit, it is flagged as rotten.
4. Click ‘Done’ to save.
2. Acting on Rotten Opportunities
Once set up, Zomentum automatically identifies opportunities that are stationary in a stage and displays an indication for each one. From here, you can either move the opportunity to the next stage in the pipeline, or use the alert to move it directly to a ‘Won’ or ‘Lost’ stage.

Users can also perform a similar action from the Opportunity deals page view, as shown in the below screenshot:
