What is a Quote block?

The Quote Block is a versatile entity and can be used to build quotes for a customer from within a Zomentum document. The block is a tabular representation of products and services being offered to a customer. You can add products, customize prices, set tax rates, and offer discounts within this block.

Sections

A Quote block can have multiple sections. Sections can be created to allow products of different types to be separated (for instance, Hardware, Software, and Labor). The section name can be edited by clicking on the field titled “Enter section name here”.

Adding a Section

To add a new section, click on the Add Section button. Also, the payment table shown below is common for all sections of the Quote block.

Products

Products can be added to the Quote by clicking the “Add Product” button. This will open a sidebar offering 3 ways to add products:

Bulk adding multiple products to a quote block:

You can add multiple products in one go to a quote block.

  1. Click on 'Click to Add Product' in the quote block.

  2. Then select the 'Add Product' option.

(ii) You also have the option to remove the selected products or skip adding the products.

Add Products from Global Catalogue

To add products from Global Catalogue, click the drop-down labeled “Self” and choose “Global Catalogue (Formerly Etilize)”. Then, choose the product by clicking the radio button next to it and follow the same steps as earlier to add the product to the quote block. Clicking on the “Add Filters” button provides additional options to filter products.

Import from DELL eQuote:

Use the drop-down to choose this option. Copy-paste your entire DELL eQuote in the blank box provided to import it.

We showcase the manufacturing part number while searching for a product (in both the Self and Global catalogue) to make it convenient for the users to select and add the correct product to the quote block.

We have the option to sort products when adding a product to a quote block. Many MSPs may have a similar product name with suffix and prefix added. Also, with variation in costs, sorting them may be tough. In order to overcome this challenge, we now have the option to sort products.

When we hit on Add product in the quote block, we get a pop-up on the right-hand side to search for products along with a sorting filter.

We have three main sorting ways with two sub-options each.

1. Sell Price:
                  A. Low to High: Displays products from low selling price to high selling price.

                  B. High to Low: Displays products from high selling price to low selling price.

2. Cost price:

                  A. Low to High: Displays products from low cost price to high cost price.

                  B. High to Low: Displays products from high cost price to low cost price.

3. Name:
                 A. A to Z: Displays the product in alphabetical order.

                 B. Z to A: Displays the product in reverse alphabetical order.

Product Choice

Use the drop-down next to the section name to toggle product choices. There are 3 available options:

  1. All options are mandatory: Choose this option to keep all products mandatory for the customer.

  2. All products are optional: Choose this option to keep all products optional for the customer. This can be used for add-on products and services.

  3. Allow only one choice: Allow the customer to choose from multiple options offered in the quote.

Product Options

After adding a product, the price, quantity, and discount can be edited from the Quote block itself. Just click on the box containing the value to be edited, enter the new value, and hit the enter key for confirming. Click on the ellipsis at the right of each product to edit the product, clone it, set the thumbnail size and delete the product.,

Quote Block Options

The quote block offers the option to:

  • Hide Price – Hide Individual Prices for Products
  • Hide Quantity – Hide Quantities of Products
  • Hide Discount - Hide the discount column from the quote block

Click on the 'Options' drop down menu on the top right end of the quote block to display the above-mentioned options.

You can change the thumbnail size of the product images inside the quote block. You have three size options at your convenience.

Theme, Font, and Price Descriptions

To change the theme and font of the quote block, use the editing bar at the top. Click on the pencil next to the existing descriptions to change the Price Descriptions.

1.   Only Products that already exist in your Product Catalogue in Zomentum can be added to the Quote block. New Products cannot be created using the ‘Add Product’ option from the Quote Block.

2.   Product pricing cannot be negative.

3.   The same product cannot be added twice to the Quote block.

4.   Discount is applied per unit of the product in case the quantity of the product is more than one.

Product prices may change with time but the prices in quotes do not change. Consequently, it creates an additional task of updating all the old quotes to reflect the new prices. However, our new feature automatically updates prices inside any document.

Workflow:

  1. Go to quote the builder.

  2. Add the product.

  3. Configure the pricing by editing the product.

  4. Select the Pricing options. (Detailed explanation of pricing is mentioned below)

  5. Add the product.

In Pricing, there are three options:

  1. My Catalog: This shows the default pricing added during the product creation and provides the ability to edit the fields like cost price and selling price.

  2. Real-Time Pricing: This option includes auto-update with the OFF/ON feature.

  • Auto Update - OFF: It allows users to select the distributor of their choice and also edit the fields like cost price and sell price.

  • Auto Update - ON: When Auto Update is enabled, it converts distributor radio buttons to checkboxes and provides the ability to select all the available distributors.

  1. The lowest price among the selected distributors will be selected automatically.

Note: The price change gets updated in documents once every 24 hours, based on which the lowest price would be considered.

  2. If Auto Update is enabled, the cost price will be fetched from the selected distributors, and the selling price will be calculated using the margin/markup.

  3. It does not allow editing the fields like cost price and selling price.

  • Create new - Custom: Users have the ability to edit the cost price when a custom is selected.

Quote Block Summary

Zomentum provides a comprehensive summary of the Quote Block through a dynamic right summary sidebar which updates its values in real time when any changes are made in the Quote Block.

The Quote Block contains product values such as Cost Price, Selling Price, and Discount. Any changes in these values are reflected in the Quote Block Summary sidebar which contains elements such as Margins, Commissions, Total Amount, and Tax.

Zomentum users can use the summary sidebar to check their overall margins and commissions as they update their quotes. They do not have to scroll down every time they update product details to check the overall data.

Each Quote Block contains its own individual summary sidebar. The summary shows up when you start interacting with the respective Quote Block.

The Quote Block summary also shows the Document Summary which is a comprehensive view of all the Quote Blocks data in the entire Document.
