How to add a custom distributor in Zomentum?
The Custom Distributor Integration feature allows Zomentum users to integrate with distributors of their choice. Whether your distributor is not listed in the integration menu or you prefer a more personalized approach, this feature streamlines the process of onboarding a new distributor seamlessly.
The following steps can be followed to use the Custom Distributor Integration feature to add a distributor:
1. Navigate to Settings→ Integrations→ Distributors
2. Select Add Custom Distributor.
3. Enter the distributor name and choose a Supplier from the dropdown menu.
If you don't see your supplier's name in the drop-down menu then you must add your supplier by clicking on the '+ Add Supplier' button at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Once you have clicked the '+ Add Supplier' button, you'll see a window appear on the right side of your screen that would ask for your supplier's details.
Note: Supplier must be created first in order to add a custom distributor.
4. Once your supplier is selected or added, the next step is to choose a method to fetch the product details.
We support two methods which are known as the Pull and Push method.
Pull Methods
The Pull method fetches product details directly from the end distributor. Within the Pull method, Zomentum provides three different techniques to fetch the data. The three techniques have been mentioned below:
i. SFTP - Requires you to enter the SFTP server and the file details and will fetch the product details directly from there. You can check with your Distributor for the SFTP credentials.
ii. FTP - A similar method to SFTP, requires you to enter the FTP server and the file details and will fetch the product details directly from there. You can check with your Distributor for the SFTP credentials.
iii. API - This method fetches the product details from an API endpoint URL. Please note that this process does not require any coding.
Note: Check with your distributor to get the API endpoint URL and use this functionality.
Push Methods
The functionality enables a Zomentum partner to push data from their end to the distributor database. When using the Push method in Zomentum, you have three distinct techniques for pushing data and subsequently fetching it. These techniques are outlined below:
i. SFTP: If you use this method, we’ll provide you with credentials to an SFTP server where you can upload your file for our systems to fetch it. You may use FTP client applications like FileZilla and Cyberduck to access the SFTP server and upload your file.
ii. Manual upload: You can also manually upload/push the files using the file upload feature.
iii. API: The API Push method provides a Zomentum endpoint URL to push data.
5. Once a method is selected and the file is successfully fetched. The next step is to map the data fields of the fetched file to relevant data fields in Zomentum.
Important Note:
The data in the file is synced every 24 hours.
We support CSV, XLSX, XML, TSV, and TXT files.
We support HTTPS feed for API method.
The maximum size of the file should not exceed 20 MB
Once the field mapping is set, it cannot be edited. If you want to change the mapping then you must create and a new Custom Distributor with the updated field mapping.
If the data has to be updated with new information, then the existing file has to be replaced with a new file of the same name.
