Our users can now calculate commissions for each of the sales agents working out of Zomentum.


You can enable this by going to Settings -> Account -> Commissions.



There are four types of commissions available in Zomentum at the moment.


They are:


  1. Percentage of Sell Price

  2. Percentage of Margin

  3. Sliding Scale on Sell Price

  4. Sliding scale on Margin



Percentage of Sell Price:


The commission is calculated based on the total amount of sales done by an agent in the given time period.


Example:


Assume 5% of total sales. If an agent has approved quotes worth $10000 in the given month, the commission will be  $500

Product A: 

Cost = 900

Sell = 1000

Commissions = 5% of Sales Amount = 50



Percentage of Margin:


Here the commission is calculated based on the total margin on the sales done by an agent in the given time period.


Example:


Assume commission is configured at 15% of the total margin. If an agent has approved quotes worth $10000 in the given month with a total margin amount of $4000, the commission will be $600

Product B: 

Cost = 900

Sell = 1000

Commissions = 15% of Margin = 15

Margin = 100



Sliding scale on Sale price:


In this method the commissions are calculated at varying percentages, depending on the profit margin of the sale amount.


Example:


For the profit margin >= 0% the sales rep gets 2.5% commission on sale amount.

0 <= X < 15

For the profit margin >= 15% the sales rep gets 5% commission on sale amount.

15 <= X < 20

For the profit margin >= 20% the sales rep gets 8% commission on sale amount.

20 <= X < 25


Product C:

Cost = 900

Sell = 1200

Margin = 300 (25%)

Commissions = 8% 0f 1200 = $96



Sliding scale on Margin


In this method, the commissions are also calculated at varying percentages, depending on the profit margin of the profit amount.


Example: 

For the profit margin >= 00% the sales rep gets 2.5% commission on profit amount

For the profit margin >= 15% the sales rep gets 5% commission on profit amount.

For the profit margin >= 20% the sales rep gets 8% commission on profit amount.


ProductD:

Cost = 900

Sell = 1200

Margin = 300 (25%)

Commissions = 8% 0f 300 = $24


The users will be able to see a non-editable commissions field that shows the sum of all the commissions on the individual quote line item. This is displayed under ‘Document details’ of the document settings.


The users can also keep a track of commissions under reports. There are three default reports that are added to Zomentum that show the following.


  1. Year to Date Commission by Month

  2. Year to Date Total Commission

  3. Month to Date Commission



The users can also add commissions as a metric under opportunity and documents while creating custom reports.


We can add and view the commissions associated with individual documents under the document list view.
